Chapter 5

1 Now Naaman,5283 captain8269 of the host6635 of the king4428 of Syria,758 was1961 a great1419 man376 with6440 his master,113 and honorable,5375 6440 because3588 by him the LORD3068 had given5414 deliverance8668 unto Syria:758 he was1961 also a mighty1368 man376 in valor,2428 but he was a leper.6879

2 And the Syrians758 had gone out3318 by companies,1416 and had brought away captive7617 out of the land4480 776 of Israel3478 a little6996 maid;5291 and she waited1961 6440 on Naaman's5283 wife.802

3 And she said559 unto413 her mistress,1404 Would God305 my lord113 were with6440 the prophet5030 that834 is in Samaria!8111 for227 he would recover622 him of his leprosy.4480 6883

4 And one went in,935 and told5046 his lord,113 saying,559 Thus2063 and thus2063 said1696 the maid5291 that834 is of the land4480 776 of Israel.3478

5 And the king4428 of Syria758 said,559 Go to,1980 go,935 and I will send7971 a letter5612 unto413 the king4428 of Israel.3478 And he departed,1980 and took3947 with3027 him ten6235 talents3603 of silver,3701 and six8337 thousand505 pieces of gold,2091 and ten6235 changes2487 of raiment.899

6 And he brought935 the letter5612 to413 the king4428 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Now6258 when this2088 letter5612 is come935 unto413 thee, behold,2009 I have therewith sent7971 853 Naaman5283 my servant5650 to413 thee, that thou mayest recover622 him of his leprosy.4480 6883

7 And it came to pass,1961 when the king4428 of Israel3478 had read7121 853 the letter,5612 that he rent7167 his clothes,899 and said,559 Am I589 God,430 to kill4191 and to make alive,2421 that3588 this2088 man doth send7971 unto413 me to recover622 a man376 of his leprosy?4480 6883 wherefore3588 389 consider,3045 I pray you,4994 and see7200 how3588 he1931 seeketh a quarrel579 against me.

8 And it was1961 so, when Elisha477 the man376 of God430 had heard8085 that3588 the king4428 of Israel3478 had rent7167 853 his clothes,899 that he sent7971 to413 the king,4428 saying,559 Wherefore4100 hast thou rent7167 thy clothes?899 let him come935 now4994 to413 me, and he shall know3045 that3588 there is3426 a prophet5030 in Israel.3478

9 So Naaman5283 came935 with his horses5483 and with his chariot,7393 and stood5975 at the door6607 of the house1004 of Elisha.477

10 And Elisha477 sent7971 a messenger4397 unto413 him, saying,559 Go1980 and wash7364 in Jordan3383 seven7651 times,6471 and thy flesh1320 shall come again7725 to thee, and thou shalt be clean.2891

11 But Naaman5283 was wroth,7107 and went away,1980 and said,559 Behold,2009 I thought,559 He will surely come out3318 3318 to413 me, and stand,5975 and call7121 on the name8034 of the LORD3068 his God,430 and strike5130 his hand3027 over413 the place,4725 and recover622 the leper.6879

12 Are not3808 Abana71 and Pharpar,6554 rivers5104 of Damascus,1834 better2896 than all4480 3605 the waters4325 of Israel?3478 may I not3808 wash7364 in them, and be clean?2891 So he turned6437 and went away1980 in a rage.2534

13 And his servants5650 came near,5066 and spoke1696 unto413 him, and said,559 My father,1 if the prophet5030 had bid1696 413 thee do some great1419 thing,1697 wouldest thou not3808 have done6213 it? how much rather637 then, when3588 he saith559 to413 thee, Wash,7364 and be clean?2891

14 Then went he down,3381 and dipped2881 himself seven7651 times6471 in Jordan,3383 according to the saying1697 of the man376 of God:430 and his flesh1320 came again7725 like unto the flesh1320 of a little6996 child,5288 and he was clean.2891

15 And he returned7725 to413 the man376 of God,430 he1931 and all3605 his company,4264 and came,935 and stood5975 before6440 him: and he said,559 Behold,2009 now4994 I know3045 that3588 there is no369 God430 in all3605 the earth,776 but3588 518 in Israel:3478 now6258 therefore, I pray thee,4994 take3947 a blessing1293 of4480 854 thy servant.5650

16 But he said,559 As the LORD3068 liveth,2416 before6440 whom834 I stand,5975 I will receive3947 none. And he urged6484 him to take3947 it; but he refused.3985

17 And Naaman5283 said,559 Shall there not3808 then, I pray thee,4994 be given5414 to thy servant5650 two mules'6776 6505 burden4853 of earth?127 for3588 thy servant5650 will henceforth5750 offer6213 neither3808 burnt offering5930 nor sacrifice2077 unto other312 gods,430 but3588 518 unto the LORD.3068

18 In this2088 thing1697 the LORD3068 pardon5545 thy servant,5650 that when my master113 goeth935 into the house1004 of Rimmon7417 to worship7812 there,8033 and he1931 leaneth8172 on5921 my hand,3027 and I bow myself7812 in the house1004 of Rimmon:7417 when I bow down myself7812 in the house1004 of Rimmon,7417 the LORD3068 pardon5545 thy servant5650 in this2088 thing.1697

19 And he said559 unto him, Go1980 in peace.7965 So he departed1980 from4480 854 him a little way.3530 776

20 But Gehazi,1522 the servant5288 of Elisha477 the man376 of God,430 said,559 Behold,2009 my master113 hath spared2820 853 Naaman5283 this2088 Syrian,761 in not receiving4480 3947 at his hands4480 3027 853 that which834 he brought:935 but,3588 518 as the LORD3068 liveth,2416 I will run7323 after310 him, and take3947 somewhat3972 of4480 854 him.

21 So Gehazi1522 followed7291 after310 Naaman.5283 And when Naaman5283 saw7200 him running7323 after310 him, he lighted down5307 from4480 5921 the chariot4818 to meet7122 him, and said,559 Is all well?7965

22 And he said,559 All is well.7965 My master113 hath sent7971 me, saying,559 Behold,2009 even now6258 2088 there be come935 to413 me from mount4480 2022 Ephraim669 two8147 young men5288 of the sons4480 1121 of the prophets:5030 give5414 them, I pray thee,4994 a talent3603 of silver,3701 and two8147 changes2487 of garments.899

23 And Naaman5283 said,559 Be content,2974 take3947 two talents.3603 And he urged6555 him, and bound6696 two talents3603 of silver3701 in two8147 bags,2754 with two8147 changes2487 of garments,899 and laid5414 them upon413 two8147 of his servants;5288 and they bore5375 them before6440 him.

24 And when he came935 to413 the tower,6076 he took3947 them from their hand,4480 3027 and bestowed6485 them in the house:1004 and he let853 the men376 go,7971 and they departed.1980

25 But he1931 went in,935 and stood5975 before413 his master.113 And Elisha477 said559 unto413 him, Whence4480 370 comest thou, Gehazi?1522 And he said,559 Thy servant5650 went1980 no3808 whither.575 575

26 And he said559 unto413 him, Went1980 not3808 mine heart3820 with thee, when834 the man376 turned again2015 from4480 5921 his chariot4818 to meet7122 thee? Is it a time6256 to receive3947 853 money,3701 and to receive3947 garments,899 and oliveyards,2132 and vineyards,3754 and sheep,6629 and oxen,1241 and menservants,5650 and maidservants?8198

27 The leprosy6883 therefore of Naaman5283 shall cleave1692 unto thee, and unto thy seed2233 forever.5769 And he went out3318 from his presence4480 6440 a leper6879 as white as snow.7950

1 Полководец арамейского царя Нееман был большим человеком и важным лицом при своем владыке. Через него ГОСПОДЬ даровал арамеям победу; он был могучим воином, но страдал проказой.

2 Однажды во время набега арамеи взяли в плен девочку из земли израильской, и та стала прислуживать жене Неемана.

3 Она сказала госпоже: «Если бы мой владыка обратился к пророку, что в Самарии, тот спас бы его от проказы!»

4 Нееман передал своему владыке: «Вот что сообщила девочка из страны израильской»,

5 и арамейский царь ответил ему: «Иди, я дам тебе письмо к царю израильскому». Тот отправился в Самарию, взяв с собой десять талантов серебра, шесть тысяч шекелей золота и десять перемен одежд.

6 Привез он и письмо к царю израильскому, в котором говорилось: «С этим письмом посылаю к тебе слугу своего Неемана, чтобы ты спас его от проказы».

7 Прочитав это письмо, царь израильский разодрал одежды и вскричал: «Разве я Бог, чтобы умерщвлять и оживлять? Зачем он посылает ко мне человека с просьбой спасти его от проказы? Сами видите, он, верно, ищет ссоры со мной!»

8 Когда Елисей, человек Божий, услышал, что царь израильский разодрал одежды, то передал царю: «Что ты раздираешь одежды? Пусть прокаженный придет ко мне и узнает, что есть в Израиле пророк!»

9 Нееман приехал со своими конями и колесницами к дому Елисея и остановился перед ним.

10 Елисей передал ему через вестника: «Иди и омойся семь раз в Иордане — твое тело обновится и станет чистым».

11 Нееман разгневался и ушел прочь со словами: «Думал я, он выйдет, встанет и призовет имя ГОСПОДА, Бога своего, поводит рукой над больным местом и избавит меня от проказы.

12 Разве реки Амана и Парпар в Дамаске не лучше всех потоков в Израиле? Я бы омылся и очистился в них!» Когда он в гневе пошел прочь,

13 слуги подошли к нему и стали говорить: «Отец наш, если бы пророк повелел тебе сделать что-либо трудное, неужели ты бы не исполнил? А он говорит всего лишь: „Омойся, и станешь чист“».

14 Тогда Нееман пошел и семь раз окунулся в Иордане, как сказал человек Божий. И тело его стало чистым, как у малого ребенка.

15 Он вернулся к человеку Божьему вместе со всей своей свитой и предстал перед ним со словами: «Теперь я знаю, что нет на земле Бога, кроме как в Израиле, — прими же дар от меня, твоего слуги».

16 Тот ответил: «Жив ГОСПОДЬ, Которому я служу! Не приму». Нееман настаивал, а тот отказывался.

17 Тогда Нееман сказал: «Если нет, то прошу, пусть мне, твоему слуге, дадут земли израильской, сколько можно навьючить на двух мулов, и впредь я, твой слуга, больше не стану приносить жертв и всесожжений никаким богам, кроме ГОСПОДА.

18 Но пусть простит мне ГОСПОДЬ вот что: если мой владыка пойдет поклониться в капище Риммона и обопрется о мою руку, так что и мне придется поклониться в капище Риммона, — за это поклонение пусть простит ГОСПОДЬ твоего слугу».

19 «Иди с миром», — ответил ему Елисей. Когда они уже удалились,

20 Гиезий, слуга человека Божьего Елисея, решил: «Владыка мой отказался от всего, что предлагал ему арамей Нееман, не принял от него ничего. Жив ГОСПОДЬ! Побегу за ним и получу от него хоть что-нибудь».

21 Гиезий побежал вслед за Нееманом, и когда тот увидел, кто бежит за ним, то сошел с колесницы ему навстречу и приветствовал его: «Всё ли благополучно?»

22 Тот отвечал: «Да, всё благополучно! Мой владыка велел тебе передать, что к нему пришли с Ефремова нагорья двое юношей из учеников пророков. Прошу, дай для них талант серебра и две перемены одежд!»

23 «Окажи милость, возьми два таланта», — сказал Нееман, упрашивая его принять дары. Два таланта он уложил в два мешка и дал их вместе с двумя переменами одежд двум своим слугам, которые понесли всё это перед Гиезием.

24 Когда они подошли к холму, он забрал у них дары и спрятал в доме, а слуг Неемана отпустил.

25 Когда Гиезий предстал перед своим владыкой, Елисей спросил: «Где ты был, Гиезий?» «Твой слуга никуда не ходил», — ответил тот.

26 Но Елисей сказал: «Да ведь сердце мое следовало за тобой, когда тот человек сошел с колесницы тебе навстречу! Время ли теперь брать серебро и одежды или заводить масличные сады и виноградники, овец и коров, рабов и рабынь?

27 Пусть проказа Неемана навсегда пристанет к тебе и к потомкам твоим!» И вышел Гиезий от него весь белый как снег от проказы.

6 Привез он и письмо к царю израильскому, в котором говорилось: «С этим письмом посылаю к тебе слугу своего Неемана, чтобы ты спас его от проказы».

14 Тогда Нееман пошел и семь раз окунулся в Иордане, как сказал человек Божий. И тело его стало чистым, как у малого ребенка.

15 And he returned7725 to413 the man376 of God,430 he1931 and all3605 his company,4264 and came,935 and stood5975 before6440 him: and he said,559 Behold,2009 now4994 I know3045 that3588 there is no369 God430 in all3605 the earth,776 but3588 518 in Israel:3478 now6258 therefore, I pray thee,4994 take3947 a blessing1293 of4480 854 thy servant.5650

15 Он вернулся к человеку Божьему вместе со всей своей свитой и предстал перед ним со словами: «Теперь я знаю, что нет на земле Бога, кроме как в Израиле, — прими же дар от меня, твоего слуги».

16 But he said,559 As the LORD3068 liveth,2416 before6440 whom834 I stand,5975 I will receive3947 none. And he urged6484 him to take3947 it; but he refused.3985

16 Тот ответил: «Жив ГОСПОДЬ, Которому я служу! Не приму». Нееман настаивал, а тот отказывался.

17 And Naaman5283 said,559 Shall there not3808 then, I pray thee,4994 be given5414 to thy servant5650 two mules'6776 6505 burden4853 of earth?127 for3588 thy servant5650 will henceforth5750 offer6213 neither3808 burnt offering5930 nor sacrifice2077 unto other312 gods,430 but3588 518 unto the LORD.3068

18 Но пусть простит мне ГОСПОДЬ вот что: если мой владыка пойдет поклониться в капище Риммона и обопрется о мою руку, так что и мне придется поклониться в капище Риммона, — за это поклонение пусть простит ГОСПОДЬ твоего слугу».

19 And he said559 unto him, Go1980 in peace.7965 So he departed1980 from4480 854 him a little way.3530 776

20 Гиезий, слуга человека Божьего Елисея, решил: «Владыка мой отказался от всего, что предлагал ему арамей Нееман, не принял от него ничего. Жив ГОСПОДЬ! Побегу за ним и получу от него хоть что-нибудь».

21 So Gehazi1522 followed7291 after310 Naaman.5283 And when Naaman5283 saw7200 him running7323 after310 him, he lighted down5307 from4480 5921 the chariot4818 to meet7122 him, and said,559 Is all well?7965

21 Гиезий побежал вслед за Нееманом, и когда тот увидел, кто бежит за ним, то сошел с колесницы ему навстречу и приветствовал его: «Всё ли благополучно?»

22 And he said,559 All is well.7965 My master113 hath sent7971 me, saying,559 Behold,2009 even now6258 2088 there be come935 to413 me from mount4480 2022 Ephraim669 two8147 young men5288 of the sons4480 1121 of the prophets:5030 give5414 them, I pray thee,4994 a talent3603 of silver,3701 and two8147 changes2487 of garments.899

22 Тот отвечал: «Да, всё благополучно! Мой владыка велел тебе передать, что к нему пришли с Ефремова нагорья двое юношей из учеников пророков. Прошу, дай для них талант серебра и две перемены одежд!»
